"The City of Fresno says volunteers saved the day, because without them, the City would have not been able to host an Easter Celebration at the Holmes Recreation Center. Within the past few months, city officials say they were forced to cut more than $100,000 from its Parks and Recreation budget because of the economy.
More than 25 volunteers, mostly students, came forward Wednesday to help."

Fresno State wins National Chapter of the Year Award
The Hispanic Business Student Association at California State University, Fresno has been recognized as the National Chapter of the Year.
The award was presented at the National Hispanic Business Association’s annual Leadership Conference in Chicago on Nov. 3. The award acknowledges the chapter’s "exemplary student leadership and local commitment to the Fresno community, education and the professionalism of its members."
2007
Fresno State HBSA hosts 2007 Western Regional Meeting
On March 17, Fresno State will host the National Hispanic Business Association Spring Regional Meeting. It is the first time Fresno State will host the event, after winning the bid to serve as the host school.
